It can be so overwhelming sifting through the thousands of recommended newborn items and figuring out what you actually need, especially as a first time parent. I’ve made a list of my TOP 5 items that I couldn’t live without for both of my children below!

1 – SNUGGLE ME ORGANIC LOUNGER : This comes in lots of beautiful color options and both of our kids lived in this for the first 3 months of life. Every baby is different, and some don’t like to be put down in which case you may be better off with a great newborn carrier (I love this one from BABY BJORN); but if your baby doesn’t mind snoozing on their own, this thing is amazing! It can easily be carried all around the house so that baby is always in sight and my littles took the BEST naps in this thing!

2 – HALO BASSINEST : As a breastfeeding mama this bassinet was a godsend. It can be set up right next to the bed, swivels easily and the sidewall drops down making it super easy to scoop baby up for middle of the night nursing sessions without even having to move from bed! We splurged and went with the LUXE because the bassinet can come off the stand and be moved around the house, which I loved for daytime naps!

*We did also try the Snoo with our first, and unfortunately it just didn’t work well for us. If you’re looking in to that option, I recommend renting; that way you can return it if needed without wasting too much money!

3 – HUCKLEBERRY APP : This is a free app which made tracking everything baby related super simple! You can filter it to your needs and track diapers, feedings, sleep etc!

4 – VAVA NIGHTLIGHT : I keep this nightlight on my nightstand and can quickly turn it on + brighten and dim with the tap of your palm! So much easier than fussing with you phone light or another light option when you have to check on or feed baby in the night!

5 – MIRACLE SWADDLE : This wasn’t as necessary with my son, but for my daughter who fought the swaddle as hard as she could – this is the BEST of the best to keep baby contained and cozy during the night, and without any loud velcro, etc.!
